    Please see the information below regarding the Flu Vaccination given by  Derbyshire Community Health Services.

    If you have consented to your child being vaccinated in school, you may find the following advice useful. Please keep this so you can refer to it on the day of vaccination.  This will replace the slip your child has received previously. Your child will still receive a stamp or a sticker after vaccination.

     

    POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE FLU NASAL SPRAY:

    Very common

    • Runny or stuffy nose
    • Reduced appetite
    • Tiredness
    • Head/ muscle ache

    Common

    • Rash
    • Temperature

    Uncommon

    • Heavy nose bleed
    • Allergic reaction

    If your child does have a fever you can help reduce it by:

    • Keeping them cool, remove clothing, turn heating off
    • Giving them children’s Paracetamol OR Ibuprofen (following the instructions on the box)
